Paramedic Refresher

 

***NREMT is accepting online courses for  Paramedic renewals ***


We will distribute 60 hours of courses that will allow students to choose their own topics to meet the specific topical requirements of the NREMT for renewals.  Students will have 90 days to complete the 60 hours.  The program will automatically terminate after 90 days, or when the 60 hours are completed.


Paramedics are required to complete 60 CME Hours


Below is the list of topics as required by the NREMT


Airway/Respiration/Ventilation: 3.5 Hours

  1. Ventilation
  2. Capnography
  3. Oxygenation

Cardiovascular: 8.5 Hours

  1. Post-Resuscitation Care
  2. Ventricular Assist Devices
  3. Stroke
  4. Cardiac Arrest
  5. Pediatric Cardiac Arrest
  6. Congestive Heart Failure
  7. Acute Coronary Syndrome

Trauma: 3 Hours

  1. Trauma Triage
  2. Central Nervous System (CNS) Injury
  3. Hemorrhage Control
  4. Fluid Resuscitation

Medical: 8.5 Hours

  1. Special Healthcare Needs
  2. OB Emergencies
  3. Infectious Diseases
  4. Medication Delivery
  5. Pain Management
  6. Psychiatric and Behavioral Emergencies
  7. Toxicological Emergencies – Opioids
  8. Neurological Emergencies – Seizures
  9. Endocrine Emergencies – Diabetes
  10. Immunological Emergencies

Operations: 6.5 Hours

  1. At-Risk Populations
  2. Ambulance Safety
  3. Field Triage—Disasters/MCIs
  4. EMS Provider Hygiene, Safety, and Vaccinations
  5. EMS Culture of Safety
  6. Pediatric Transport
  7. Crew Resource Management
  8. EMS Research
  9. Evidence Based Guidelines


Local or State Component: 15 Hours

If specific local and/or state are not specified, these required hours are considered flexible content. You may use any state or Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) approved EMS–related education to fulfill these requirements. A maximum of 10 hours of distributive education (Distributive Education (DE) is a method of delivering EMS education where the educator and student are not able to interact in real time. Examples include online courses, journal article reviews, and videos) may be used to meet the 15 hour requirement.


Individual Component: 15 Hours

The individual hours are considered flexible content. You may use any state or Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) approved EMS–related education to fulfill these requirements. A maximum of 15 hours of distributive education (Distributive Education (DE) is a method of delivering EMS education where the educator and student are not able to interact in real time. Examples include online courses, journal article reviews, and videos) may be used to meet the 15 hour requirement.

**  Students are responsible for submitting their own paperwork to National Registry.
